"In the essence of Buscaglia, Lessons from an Imperfect World serves to remind us that all too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a Life around.

Harry Grether's Lessons from an Imperfect World guides and engages our healing and comforting imagination while reassuring our wishful Heart in ways that are both magical and transformative. In this modern age where we will find ourselves in the role of patient, caretaker, guardian, or grieving parent, this book will help provide the wisdom we seek when Life's duties call or the normal rhythms of our daily Life find a dissonant chord.

Thom Pepe, loving father of Travis Adam, whose beautiful Life was shortened by suicide

Lessons from an Imperfect World is an "I wish..." book, as in "I wish I had the wisdom between these covers when I faced my own unique challenges."

Richard L. Baldwin, Author

Harry Grether  offers us the vision of a world where people care and act upon their caring. He inspires confidence in our abilities to create positive change. Lessons from an Imperfect World is both devotional and motivational. Its stories provide comfort and hope to broken hearts and troubled minds. As a pastor, I affirm this literary gift in the practice of ministries. It proclaims love. It restores spirit. It is life.

Rev. Dr. Wallace H. Mayton, III, Associate Pastor, Memorial Presbyterian Church

Harry's book will always hold a special place in my heart. I felt led to read to my mother during her final day with us after a five-year cancer battle. I am convinced that reading aloud from Lessons from an Imperfect World contributed to a sense of calm and serenity for all of our family members, as people came and went ... and as mom peacefully went to the hereafter.

Susan B. Dusseau, Executive Director, Cancer Services, A United Way Agency

This is an inspiring book, one that will invigorate the heart and soul in the process of turning its valuable pages.

This wonderfully uplifting book combines the personal stories of people like you and me, living in a very imperfect world, but who, nonetheless, endure and even thrive in spite of our adversities. Harry reminds us all of what truly matters in our lives and in our world.

Kevin Kendrick, Vice President, Global Security, Dow Corning Corporation, President, Midland Rotary Club

... about Lessons from an Imperfect World: The book acknowledges our own imperfect lives and how we find the strength to get through each day with hope, love, and inspiration. Harry Grether's authenticity on the written page allows others to do the same. As I curled up reading his stories of real people and their strengths to cope in Lessons from an Imperfect World, I felt safe and connected to the spirit of hope that sparks every page, a gift to accompany anyone's journey through this wonderful obstacle course of life.

Camille Gerace Nitschky, Executive Director, Children's Grief Center, Great lakes Bay Region

The stories contained in Lessons from an Imperfect World demonstrate the tremendous power of just being quietly present for those who are going through a difficult journey. We often find it hard to come up with the right words when we see someone suffering, yet the gift of being present in the moment to those around us is one that can bring about the most healing and calm. Through Harry's generosity, we have been able to provide this book to over 3,000 of our cancer patients and have seen the power of his written word bring comfort to them and their loved ones.

Dr. Joan Herbert, Pharm.D., Director of Oncology Services, MidMichigan Health

Having never met ANYONE who couldn't use "a lift" or "support" in some area of their life at any given time, I enthusiastically recommend reading this book! Lessons from an Imperfect World provides a compassionate and loving INSPIRATION, HOPE, and PERSPECTIVE in all areas of our lives. This book should be read and kept as a reference - for ourselves and for our loved ones. Embrace the lessons contained in this book.

Reviews from Barnes & Noble

5 Stars: Fabulous, Inspirational Book!
This was just the book I needed. It was filled with love, laughter, courage and a few tears. This book is a must read for those looking to find inspiration and hope.

5 Stars: Lessons learned from the lives of family & friends
An excellent read about real people and their life experiences. It reminds me of a line from a country western tune that goes something like - loving is easy it's the living that's hard.

5 Stars: This is a 'must read' book
I could only read one chapter a day from Lessons from an Imperfect World because it was so deep and meaningful. I wanted to savor the message and think about it before I started the next chapter. I used it as a private devotion.

5 Stars: Outstanding New Author - Outstanding New Book
Truly profound in the most simple way. Lessons from an Imperfect World is easy to read and difficult to put down. Grether shares his own experiences and experiences of those he has met during his journey through life. The ups and downs he has encountered have each taught him something inique. Stories deal with subjects such as death of a loved one, international adoption, grandchildren, freedom, hunger, forgiveness, homelessness and more. I felt touched after reading these stories and compelled to try and make a difference. If you only buy one book today, this should be it!
